Getting Started
Learn VerCivil from starting with a drawing or calculator through checking results, saving work, and preparing project documents.
Welcome to VerCivil Docs
This manual is the single place to learn the app. Start with either a structural drawing or a calculator, then learn to enter inputs, check results, save projects, and prepare documents.
Start from a structural drawing
If you already have a plan, open the drawing workspace and create or select elements from the Structural Palette. When the plan contains walls, the structural-skeleton panel can propose columns, beams, and footings for an engineer to review before adding them. Then declare load sources, run Calculate, review and accept the results, and only then lock the project or prepare a package. The system does not choose a structural system for the engineer. Whole-building checks on the drawing cover gravity loads only; wind, seismic and uplift are checked with their own calculators.
Start from a calculator
When work starts with a member or a load rather than a drawing, choose a calculator from the home page. Tools are grouped by discipline: Concrete, Steel, Timber, Loads, Geotechnical, Analysis, and MEP.
Enter inputs
Each calculator has a form organized into clear sections. Fill in geometry, loads, material properties, and the design code you want to use. The form validates inputs and warns about unusual values.
Read results and calc steps
After calculating, the output shows demand/capacity ratios, recommended sizes, reinforcement details, material quantities, and any diagrams you need. Calculation steps help you verify the method.
Stale-results banner
If you edit inputs after a calculation, a colored banner warns you that the current results no longer match the latest inputs. Press calculate again to refresh the output.
Save to a project
You can save calculations into a project. Guests keep data in the browser, while logged-in users sync to the cloud and can access it from other devices.
Export a PDF report
Press the Export PDF button to generate a full report. The report includes a cover page, input summary, calculation steps, results, and a professional liability disclaimer.
Free quota and Pro
The Free plan lets you run calculators 3 times per day and includes the full drawing canvas. For unlimited calculations, watermark-free PDFs, and DXF export, upgrade to Pro. See the pricing page for details.
